Titre du document: Document title:Domestic minor sex trafficking, Salt Lake City, Utah
Description:
Domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST) is the commercial sexual exploitation of U.S. citizen children or lawful permanent resident (LPR) children through prostitution, pornography, or sexual performance for compensation, either monetary or other consideration (food, shelter, drugs, etc.). DMST has been viewed as the single most under-reported, under-identified, and most severe form of sexual exploitation that children are facing today. This assessment includes information collected during April-August 2008 through a comprehensive review of existing research and the completion of 30 interviews from representatives of 21 different organizations and agencies that frequently interact with DMST victims or are poised to do so. Best practices are noted throughout the report. However, it is also the purpose of this report to identify the gaps and challenges that present themselves while working with this complex population of victims.

Titre du document: Document title:Domestic sex trafficking of Chicago women and girls
Description:
The purpose of this research project was to obtain more information about the process by which young girls are recruited into the sex trade industry in the Chicago metropolitan area including strategies used, and levels of coercion, control, and violence that hold them in prostitution. The researchers hypothesized that dishonest recruitment tactics and outright coercion are employed; the same tactics in international human trafficking are to meet the demand for prostituted young women in Chicago. Researchers also set out to determine where girls were active in the sex trade, whether they are transported to prostitution venues, how far they are transported, and whether they are taken across state lines.

Description:

These issues and many more were later discussed throughout the EAP Regional Preparatory Meeting and in the six thematic workshops

Titre du document: Document title:Global monitoring report on the status of action against commercial sexual exploitation of children - Egypt
Description:
The Agenda for action against commercial sexual exploitation of children provides a detailed framework and categories of actions to be taken by governments in partnership and other relevant actors for combating commercial sexual crimes against children. Broadly, these actions are focused on : coordination and cooperation, prevention, recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration, child participation. The Agenda for action is thus the formal and guiding structure used by governments that have adopted it and committed to work against CSEC. Egypt has not developed a National Plan of action against CSEC. As a follow up to the ratification of the Optional Protocol, Egypt must urgently develop a national plan of action to address sexual abuse and all forms of commercial sexual exploitation of children. The National Council of Childhood and Motherhood is a key institution to take the lead in the process, which should involve the participation of children as well as stakeholders such as the police and social workers.

Titre du document: Document title:Empowering victims of human trafficking : the role of support, assistance and protection policies
Description:
This paper intends to show the importance of proper help and protection for trafficked victims. 'Best practices' such as reflection delay, the permit to stay in the country, psychological and social assistance both before and after repatriation to the country of origin, may help to empower victims and to convince them to contribute to the criminal justice system. Trafficked victims who are sufficiently supported and protected are more likely to report the crime and to contribute to investigations by identifying and testifying against the offenders. If trafficked victims are not recognized as such, criminal justice systems lose important evidence and are unable to enforce criminal law against traffickers. Moreover, the promotion of victims' needs is essential for the promotion of human security, which should also be a target of the counter-trafficking policies.

Titre du document: Document title:Brésil - Etat des lieux de la traite, de la prostitution, du proxénétisme et du tourisme sexuel
Description:
