Titre du document: Document title:Unequal
Description:
This document is an article responding to Debbie Nathan's 'Oversexed' (Nation, August 29, 2005). Nathan sympathizes with who consider prostitution a form of labor rather than violence against women. Nathan criticizes abolitionist feminists who think that women in prostitution deserve more in life than a condom and a cup of coffee. The feminist author thinks that women deserve the right NOT to prostitute. That's what almost all women in prostitution tell they want to get out. She also thinks that HIV prevention funds should not be used to promote legalized prostitution.

Description:

Description:

Titre du document: Document title:Why Do Johns Use Pornography?: Predicting Consumption of Pornography by Clients of Street Level Prostitutes
Description:
This research attempts to quantify the use of pornography among men known to solicit prostitutes and to identify the characteristics which might predict greater use of pornographic materials among this population. Data for this research were obtained from a study of clients of street prostitutes in Portland, Oregon, San Francisco and Santa Clara, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada (Monto, 1999a). Age, marital status, education level, employment status, race/ethnicity, whether an individual had been sexually touched as a child, number of sex partners, frequency of sex, age of first sex with a prostitute, and number of times having sex with a prostitute were significantly related to frequency of pornography use (p<.05). Implications for future research are addressed.

Titre du document: Document title:X underrated
Description:
Pornography is increasingly breaching this divide, making popular culture more pornographic by the day. This effect is routinely observed and sometimes deplored, whether for sexually objectifying women yet more inescapably or for taking away the sexiness of the forbidden. But if this movement is rarely documented, and even more seldom explained, the fact that pornography itself has been a popular feature of culture - the most mass of media - for some time is never faced.
