Titre du document: Document title:Global monitoring report on the status of action against commercial sexual exploitation of children - Mauritania
Description:
The Agenda for action against commercial sexual exploitation of children provides a detailed framework and categories of actions to be taken by governments in partnership and other relevant actors for combating commercial sexual crimes against children. Broadly, these actions are focused on : coordination and cooperation, prevention, recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration, child participation. The Agenda for action is thus the formal and guiding structure used by governments that have adopted it and committed to work against CSEC. In Mauritania, the Plan of Action against the sexual exploitation of children was officially adopted in November 2005, but very few activities have been conducted to date. It urgently needs to be executed through the allocation of financial resources and mobilisation of concerned government ministries and agencies.

Mauritius has a National Plan of Action on the Protection of Children against Sexual Abuse. But sufficient financial resources must be allocated for the full implementation of the NPA, including Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. Involving the hotel and tourism industry in efforts to prevent the sexual exploitation of children in tourism is essential: the adoption of the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism by tourism industry stakeholders must be fostered.
