The Workshop consisted of two parts: plenary meetings, addressed by a
number of different speakers, and working groups. Five members of the
Committee on the Rights of the Child and specialists representing United
Nations agencies and regional bodies participated as experts, both in
the plenary meetings and in the working groups.The participants split
into six thematic groups : Birth registration, Violence against children
and follow-up to the United Nations study on violence against children,
Health, Education, Child labour and trafficking, Juvenile justice. At
the plenary meeting held on the afternoon of the third day, each
thematic working group presented its recommendations, which are set out
in section II of this report.
