Titre du document: Document title:Situation analysis of the commercial sexual exploitation of children, in the kingdom of Cambodia, 2006-2007
Description:
This report examines the situation of children living in or trafficked to Cambodia who are sexually exploited and the efforts made by the Government and humanitarian aid organisations to assist these children or young people to rescue them from this 'work'. Furthermore, the report examines the existing legal framework and efforts made to promote better laws and procedures to protect these children, as well as the efforts made to enforce the law and relevant Government policies. The report also looks at the services provided to victims for recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration into their families, communities and society by Government agencies and civil society organisations. This report also draws from another research conducted by the Coalition, a study about Sex Tourism in collaboration with the Protection Project of the John Hopkins University.

Titre du document: Document title:Situational assessment of human trafficking, a 2005 situational assessment of human trafficking in the SADC region
Description:
This report is based on responses to a questionnaire issued to persons in the three countries targeted - South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique - as well as on interviews with members of law enforcement, justice and border control authorities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), trafficking victims and the parent of one trafficking victim. Those interviewed agreed that human trafficking is widespread in the three countries researched as well as in the whole SADC region. Parents often agree to this activity because they do not know that its purpose is human trafficking. The report shows that women and children are the main targets for human traffickers. Law enforcement officers indicated that the abuse of victims can reach unimaginable proportions - sometimes even ending in their being killed. The report's findings and recommendations are wide-ranging and point to the need for government action - either regionally or nationally.

Titre du document: Document title:Social workers’ knowledge of human trafficking
Description:
The purpose of this study was to assess social workers' knowledge of human trafficking. The hypothesis was that social workers needed to be further educated on this issue. A survey to assess social workers' knowledge of human trafficking was placed in the quarterly newsletter of the Rhode Island National Association of Social Workers. Fourteen surveys were returned revealing the actual level of knowledge of these participants. The study revealed that social workers have differing competencies pertaining to knowledge of human trafficking. It is recommended that it is necessary to increase knowledge and identification of human trafficking. Implications for policy are indicated.

Titre du document: Document title:Global monitoring report on the status of action against commercial sexual exploitation of children - South Africa
Description:
The Agenda for action against commercial sexual exploitation of children provides a detailed framework and categories of actions to be taken by governments in partnership and other relevant actors for combating commercial sexual crimes against children. Broadly, these actions are focused on : coordination and cooperation, prevention, recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration, child participation. The Agenda for action is thus the formal and guiding structure used by governments that have adopted it and committed to work against CSEC. In South Africa, the priority areas identified in the National Policy Framework and Strategic Plan for the Prevention and Management of Child Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation must now be translated into action through adequate allocation of resources and support from relevant government departments, especially the Department of Social Development. It is hoped that the activities planned, especially those related to commercial sexual exploitation of children, do not fail to materialise, as happened in the case of the 1997 NPA against CSEC.

Titre du document: Document title:Moins de disparités hommes/femmes en termes de niveaux d’éducation
Description:

Description:

This research paper is the first publication of a global strategy, which comprises three general objectives: to improve the protection of child victims of trafficking, to prevent child trafficking and to reduce crime by gaining a better understanding of this problem.
