Titre du document: Document title:Men, Masculinities, Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Violence, a literature review and call for action
Description:
This paper explores possible linkages between masculinities and different forms of sexual exploitation and sexual violence.Specifically, it seeks to answer the question : How do prevailing norms and views of manhood, or masculinities, contribute to some men's use of sexual violence, and the "demand-side” of sexual exploitation? We critically review existing literature on the topic, with a particular focus on recommendations for action.

Titre du document: Document title:Methods and Models for Mixing Services for Victims of Domestic Violence and Trafficking in Persons in Europe & Eurasia
Description:
This study considers service models for victims of trafficking in persons and domestic violence in the Europe and Eurasia region. The central research question was how best to provide assistance and support to both victims of trafficking and domestic violence which meets their individual and specific needs while taking into account the limited, and sometimes diminishing, resources available for these services. The study examines the various types of victim-centered services available in the region, those dedicated either to victims and those where services for the two groups are mixed. Also considered is the extent to which these services are available and accessible to the two target groups. Of particular interest is how and where services may be mixed and where services should be distinct, as well as where additional services are required to meet the needs of victims.

Titre du document: Document title:La traite des femmes est une violation grave des droits humains
Description:

Titre du document: Document title:Migration and development : achieving policy coherence
Description:
Policy coherence between migration and development agendas is of increasing interest in current times; there is growing recognition that migration policies should support rather than hinder investment in international development. The United Nations High-Level Dialogue of September 2006 and the Global Forum on Migration and Development of July 2007 both raised the attention given to this issue. Now that the interface between migration and development has been recognized, the challenge is to turn this interest into working-level policies and programmes. The aim of this study is to build on existing international research and take the analysis to the next higher level showing how these connections can be made in practice. Policy makers often focus on remittances as the main means of translating the migration-development nexus into reality. However, this paper shows that there are many stages in the migration cycle, from departure to return and reintegration back home, that present opportunities to make migration more "development friendly” and, conversely, to raise development awareness of migration factors.

Titre du document: Document title:Migration and development within and across borders : research and policy perspectives on internal and international migration
Description:
The articles selected for this volume are revised versions of some of the workshop papers that focused on issues related to labour migration. This narrower topical focus not only facilitates the framing of internal and international migration within sending and receiving areas and on different levels of social organization but also makes possible an examination of related methods of research and links to policy. The essays in this volume make clear that the livelihoods of many rural families and communities depend on both internal and international migration. Although both types of migration seem to provide access to work that can raise incomes and reduce poverty, international migration seems to offer considerably higher levels of remuneration. That is the outcome of an expert meeting organized jointly by the Social Science Resarch Council (SSRC), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Centre on Migration Policy and Society (COMPAS)

Titre du document: Document title:Don't turn your back on girls - Sexual violence against girls in Haiti
Description:
This report is based on research carried out by Amnesty International in 2007 and 2008. It includes interviews with victims and survivors of sexual violence. The interviews were carried out during visits to Haiti by the NGO researchers in September 2007 and March 2008. The report focuses on the experiences of girls. While their experiences reflect the continuum of gender- based violence against women in general, nternational law recognizes the particular protection needs of children. It is within this framework that this report seeks to highlight violations of girls' human rights, in Haiti.

Titre du document: Document title:Ne leur tournez pas le dos - La violence sexuelle contre les filles en Haïti
Description:

Titre du document: Document title:Reporting on violence against children
Description:
A thematic guide for non-governmental organisations reporting to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. The Guidelines aim to assist NGOs in ensuring that there is adequate discussion on and analysis of violence in the preparation of NGO reports and that the concluding observations of the Committee reflect concerns about violence and represent a tool for follow-up at national level.
