Titre du document: Document title:An acceleration of challenges for society
Description:
In this report, firstly a historical overview of migration in the country is outlined as a basis for the next evaluation. Furthermore, matters of migrants changing their permanent residence in Slovakia are portrayed. A large part of the report is devoted to undocumented migration. It has evolved very dynamically in the last 10 years, as shown in tables. Another text passage of the report studies issues referring to aliens (foreigners) living in the territory of the Slovak Republic by the Act on the Stay of Aliens. Subsequently, special attention is paid to the Slovak labour market, the presence of nonnatives on it and the economic dimension of migration as a whole. The reader may also be interested in the labour emigration of Slovaks abroad. In the conclusion of the report on Slovakia, the most serious research outcomes are summarized, and the need for comprehensive, rapid, effective and rational solutions in the sphere of migration issues is stressed.

In fact this booklet is part of a product of comprehensive research and analysis of migration trends in each of six participating EU accession countries: Poland (N°3), the Czech Republic (N°2), Slovakia (N°5), Slovenia, Romania (N°4) and Bulgaria (N°1).

Titre du document: Document title:The perspective of a country on the « Schengen periphery »
Description:
The key event in the country's contemporary history is the milestone year of 1991 when Slovenia gained independence. After this period, the entire process of creating migration policy started, although it cannot be said that Slovenia had no previous experience with migration outflow and inflow. On the contrary, Slovenia was the territory of immigration from other parts of former Yugoslavia. At the same time, many Slovenes emigrated to the Western countries as « guest workers ». Another important influence in the creation of Slovene migration policy is the involvement in the European integration processes. The contemporary migration policies are in the jaws of European and national realpolitik of controlling the migration on one hand, and demand to respect human rights and the implementation of humanitarian principles on the other; the latter being a position represented as "the public policy of non-governmental organisations”.

In fact this booklet is part of a product of comprehensive research and analysis of migration trends in each of six participating EU accession countries: Poland (N°3), the Czech Republic (N°2), Slovakia (N°5), Slovenia (N°6), Romania (N°4) and Bulgaria (N°1).

Titre du document: Document title:National referral mechanisms
Description:
This practical handbook begins at the point where media stories or police reports of victims of human trafficking usually end : after the raid, when the trafficked person has been liberated by the police. Unfortunately, all too often, the trauma, ill-treatment, and human-rights abuses associated with human trafficking may not end when a victim is liberated but can continue during shelter and repatriation programmes.

Titre du document: Document title:Organised Crime, Trafficking, Drugs
Description:
The development of the international economy and the integration of states is a natural, unavoidable, and, as whole, a positive process in the development of world civilization. However, in the intensification of the integration, there are negative characteristics. Criminality of these economy and integration is inevitable, due to the deep contradictions that are inherent to any positive process. One of the most effective ways to decrease criminality is the creation of a new world governance system that will absorb certain governing functions from the states. Ways of minimizing the criminality include : overcoming the incompatibilityof the states'legal systems ; improving coordination among various state agencies ; re-thinkingthe role of international law through creating both overarching international legal acts and the system of international justice.

Titre du document: Document title:Prostitutes
Description:
The prostitute makes up one of the three legs of the system of prostitution, along with the client and the pimp. Though prostitution concerns mainly women, men are not excluded, particularly since the beginning of the twentieth century. In fact, the first mention of the word "prostitute" in the "Dictionnaire historique de la langue française" dates to 1596 but includes only the feminine form (prostituée), with the masculine form (prostitué) appearing only after 1930.
