 Despite the existing legal framework for the protection of children's rights, numerous cases and reports of severe torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment in Turkey in recent years from a variety of sources are irrefutable proof that children are not adequately protected from these violations and that there are serious deficiencies in the system of protection of children in Turkey.
