 Trafficking in human beings, as it is known worldwide, is an activity
based on the exploitation of people by other people and it constitutes a
violation of fundamental human rights. Greece is mainly a destination country for victims of trafficking and its
legislation foresees specific measures for combating traffi cking in human
beings and for protecting victims. This Guide is addressed mainly to women victims of trafficking. For
this reason, it is written in plain language, so that the basic rights of a
trafficking victim in Greece are understandable and clear.
