 This short piece stems from fifteen years of research projects based on personal interviews, refugee camp evaluations, and secondary data, all on Afghan refugee women. What emerges as most important is that women peace activists working on the ground in armed conflict are seeing women and girls affected in specific and often horrific ways by the movements of armed men across porous borders. They are lamenting that virtually nothing is being done to identify, understand, or properly assist them.
