Description:
 The Portuguese authorities have taken a number of important steps to prevent and combat trafficking in human beings. The anti-trafficking legal framework has evolved over the years in line with Portugal's international commitments. That said, GRETA notes that non-governmental organisations have not been sufficiently involved in the planning and implementation of anti-trafficking measures. Furthermore, GRETA considers that the Portuguese authorities should adapt anti-trafficking policy by focusing more attention on trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation and taking greater account of male and child victims of trafficking.
