Description:
 The present report is submitted in accordance with General Assembly resolution 60/141 in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit a report at its sixty-second session on the implementation of the present resolution, including an emphasis on fistula, with a view to assessing the impact of the resolution on the well-being of the girl child. Section II of the report highlights key points raised at the fifty-first session of the Commission on the Status of Women in February/March 2007. Section III reviews work by treaty monitoring bodies and special procedures of the Human Rights Council. Section IV presents efforts by the United Nations to prevent and treat fistula.
