The Agenda for action against commercial sexual exploitation of children provides a detailed framework and categories of actions to be taken by governments in partnership and other relevant actors for combating commercial sexual crimes against children. Broadly, these actions are focused on : coordination and cooperation, prevention, recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration, child participation. The Agenda for action is thus the formal and guiding structure used by governments that have adopted it and committed to work against CSEC. Ghana has not drafted or adopted a NPA against CSEC. In conjunction with ILO/IPEC, Ghana is developing a National Child Trafficking Plan of Action to prevent and combat child trafficking, still in draft form, it should include provisions to specifically tackle trafficking in children for sexual purposes. A NPA must urgently be developed and adopted to eliminate child prostitution, child pornography, and trafficking in children for sexual purposes. |
