The Agenda for action against commercial sexual exploitation of children provides a detailed framework and categories of actions to be taken by governments in partnership and other relevant actors for combating commercial sexual crimes against children. Broadly, these actions are focused on : coordination and cooperation, prevention, recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration, child participation. The Agenda for action is thus the formal and guiding structure used by governments that have adopted it and committed to work against CSEC. In Jordan, the National Plan of Action for Children (2004-2015) was drafted by a steering committee 13 which included Government representatives, NGOs, the private sector and academia working on children's issues. A situational analysis on the scope and manifestations of CSEC must be conducted as a first step to understanding the phenomenon in the context of Jordan and to design appropriate counter measures. |
