A key element in helping end the demand for the sex trade is to educate the public on the realities of prostitution for many of those experiencing it. Stories often appear in mainstream media sources that glamorize the sex trade or trivialize the harm that individuals experience in prostitution. This study include several examples of these instances. Legalization is often touted as a progressive solution to issues surrounding prostitution. However, there is nothing progressive about legalizing prostitution. It merely institution alizes and legitimizes the abuse of women and children. The sex trade is an industry that produces many victims. Individuals who say that the sex trade is a victimless crime are ignoring the sizeable amount of research that show otherwise.
