This paper sets out to gain insights into the current situation around prostitution in the host five boroughs and anticipated changes, including considerations around service provision. It is beyond the scope of this paper to give concrete numbers around prostitution or findings from past Olympic events. There are already some signs of increases in the levels of on and off-street prostitution within the host boroughs; although it is difficult to establish a direct correlation between the increase and the Olympics, and other factors such as the recession are likely to play a part. A strategic multi-disciplinary group include representatives from the five boroughs and key organisations should be established to oversee the implementation of plans around prostitution and the Olympics.
