Description:
 The present report has been prepared in response to Human Rights Council resolution 8/12, entitled “Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially women and children”. The report is divided into four chapters. Chapter I presents an overview of the recent developments in the United Nations relating to combating trafficking in persons, bearing in mind global policy developments and the initiatives undertaken by United Nations entities. Chapter II reviews the activities of OHCHR related to combating trafficking in persons. Chapter III presents the Recommended Principles and Guidelines on Human Rights and Human Trafficking. Finally, Chapter IV presents Conclusions.
