 This overview analyses the ways in which traditional
norms, globalisation and other factors are fuelling
rapid increases in CSEC in South Asia, where
prostitution of children, child trafficking, online
exploitation and abuse and sex tourism are affecting
all countries. It explores the evolving shape, form
and methodologies used to avoid detection by
increasingly sophisticated networks of exploiters
who benefit from complacency, complicity and
corruption, as well as widespread ignorance of risk
and unwillingness to abandon harmful traditional
practices.
