 The aim of the present study is to investigate the trafficking of women into Turkey. The study reviews the legislative framework and relevant sociological aspects. As one of the principal destinations in Turkey,Istanbul has been selected as a main focal point for research into irregular migration and the trafficking of women into Turkey. The first part of the report is mainly based on available data and legislation to give an outline of the actual situation. In the second part of the report the findings of the survey is presented.
