 Persons trafficked and/or smuggled into Spain come from the Americas, Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia - each region with its own distinct trafficking and smuggling patterns and characteristics.This report focuses on the state of the law regarding trafficking and smuggling, including criminalization and penalties for traffickers and smugglers, victim protection and assistance services, the efforts of law enforcement to investigate and punish traffickers and smugglers and the presence of non-governmental organizations working with and for women survivors of trafficking and smuggling.
