The integration of criminal legislation in Europe is a major theme in the debate on the future of the Europe Union.The harmonisation Project will encourage a principled approach. The conclusion of the conference is 'The value of comparative law and of comparative criminology is of course to allow us to discover the richness, weaknesses and contradictions in our various systems.There is a real value in diversity. We have lots to learn from each other. But may we not be sream-rollered into hasty and inappropriate harmonisation'.
