One of the most disturbing features of contemporary society is the spread of child sexual exploitation worldwide. The phenomenon involves three particular forms of exploitation: child prostitution, child pornography and child sexual trafficking. Jean-Francois NoelThe environment behind such exploitation includes poverty, family disintegration, discrimination, decline in human values, commercialisation, consumerisation, distorted use of technology, and criminality. These are based on the reprehensible treatment of children as objects of abuse rather than as subjects of rights.
