Description:
 The results of a study of 240 prostitutes in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Leeds demonstrate that 63% of the prostitutes had experienced client violence in their lifetime and 37% in the six months prior to the study. The levels of violence were lower among those prostitutes working indoors, but those prostitutes were also less likely to report aggression to the police. The authors urge changes in policy and mentality that would encourage prostitutes to report violence committed against them and lower the incidence of aggression.
