The Agenda for action against commercial sexual exploitation of children provides a detailed framework and categories of actions to be taken by governments in partnership and other relevant actors for combating commercial sexual crimes against children. Broadly, these actions are focused on : coordination and cooperation, prevention, recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration, child participation. The Agenda for action is thus the formal and guiding structure used by governments that have adopted it and committed to work against CSEC. In Nepal the National Plan of Action against Trafficking of Women and Children for Commercial Sexual Exploitation, developed by the Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Welfare, was adopted in 1998 and revised in 2003. The most recent development is the 10-Year National Plan of Action (2005-2015). Nepal must develop a specific national plan of action to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children, better understanding and a knowledge base on CSEC needs to be developed through research and training for more effective action. |
