 Trafficking in human beings, as a form of organised crime, has the following characteristics in the Czech Republic : trafficking in women is a criminal offence, but in the past cases prosecuting this offence hardly appeared before Czech courts. But, a radical change took place in the 1990's. On the basis of the information obtained, it can be stated that the groups of perpetrators involved in human trafficking in the Czech Republic are in different stages of the development of organised crime. The existence of organised groups has been confirmed by the findings from selected case files, and, above all, by the identical opinions of experts.
