Description:
 The author refer to women who leave their countries and later are found selling sex in someone else's, at which point they disappear from migration studies (where they would be migrants) and reappear in criminological or feminist theorising (where they are called victims). This article examines how this switch takes place, and for whom, and how silences on sexual matters contribute to this major removal of agency from large numbers of present-day migrants.
