 The Agenda for action against commercial sexual exploitation of children provides a detailed framework and categories of actions to be taken by governments in partnership and other relevant actors for combating commercial sexual crimes against children. Broadly, these actions are focused on : coordination and cooperation, prevention, recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration, child participation. The Agenda for action is thus the formal and guiding structure used by governments that have adopted it and committed to work against CSEC.Denmark does not have a National Plan of Action that specifically focuses on combating the commercial sexual exploitation of children. The 2003 Action Plan on Combating Sexual Abuse of Children focuses mainly on child sexual abuse and has limited provisions on commercial sexual exploitation of children. The Plan also lacks a monitoring system and financial support to the initiatives envisaged.The absence of provisions tackling child sexual exploitation via new technologies is another serious gap (the Plan only mentions a national hotline for reporting child abuse images found on the Internet).So a fully-elaborate national plan of action focusing on CSEC must be developed, especially in view of the limited provisions for countering CSEC within the existing national plans. The plan should be sufficiently resourced and include an appropriate monitoring system.
