 This report is based on research carried out by Amnesty International in 2007 and 2008. It includes interviews with victims and survivors of sexual violence. The interviews were carried out during visits to Haiti by the NGO researchers in September 2007 and March 2008. The report focuses on the experiences of girls. While their experiences reflect the continuum of gender- based violence against women in general, nternational law recognizes the particular protection needs of children. It is within this framework that this report seeks to highlight violations of girls' human rights, in Haiti.
