 Discussions on child trafficking often tend to focus on "cross-border situations", whereby victims are transferred from one country to another. It is however important to realise that child trafficking may also have a 'purely internal dimension'. In the Netherlands this internal dimension primarily concerns the so-called 'loverboys'; pimps who use seduction techniques to draw - mostly minor - girls into prostitution. Under Dutch law loverboys are classified as human traffickers if their victims are minors.
