 Rescue conducted moral awareness programs in 130 PUC and Degree colleges to a total of 43,000
students over the last 14 months in three districts of Karnataka. Though our main aim is to install good
family and moral values in the students, the unwillingness of some college principals and authorities to
acknowledge the pervasiveness of pornography among students led to this survey. Its intention was to
awaken educators and policy makers as to the extent to which the youth in rural as well as urban areas are
getting addicted to pornography and so action can be taken to reverse the trend and so that educational
establishment would see the need for these moral awareness programs.
