 This conference formed an integral part of a broader project on criminal law reform in Sudan. Its purpose was to identify and discuss the challenges facing the constitutional protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Sudan, particularly the persistent gaps concerning the recognition of rights and shortcomings in their implementation. Based on these discussions, the conference sought to develop specific recommendations on how to strengthen the system of human rights protection in Sudan in the constitution-making process.
