Description:
 Slovenia has a fairly well-developed legal and institutional anti-corruption framework. However, recent years appear to have seen a decline in the political drive against corruption, amidst allegations of corruption and doubts about the integrity of high-level officials, both elected and appointed, and of other officials within the public administration and state-owned or state-controlled companies. Corruption at both central and local levels came to the forefront of public attention, culminating in the fall of a government. In this context, anti-corruption institutions demonstrated the importance of preserving their independence and strength.
