 The Norwegian Sex Buying Act (SBA) has been legally in force since January 2009. The main findings are that
the law has reduced demand, made it harder for traffickers and pimps to work in Norway, reduced economic conditions, and reduced the street market. The organization for the prostitutes and the social outreach organizations for the former
are very active in the debate, but the sex buyers are absent.Now that the SBA seems to have come to stay, the government has incurred a moral
obligation, however: by 'freeing' women from trafficking, what will it offer them instead?
